The History of The Golden Echoes Resale Building

- The building that currently houses Golden Echoes Resale Shop (The Scott family referred to it as the Post office building.) was built between 1920-1930.
- In the east side of the building there was a post office and on the west side was a doctor’s office and a dentist.
- There used to be a doctor’s office there and it belonged to Dr. Roby and the dentist was Dr. Vineyard. The two shared the building at the time. Later, it was Dr. Johnston’s. In the doctor’s office, many babies were born, causing Doc Vineyard to move to a different building (present day Dr. Colbert’s office).
- In the 1970’s the building was a barber shop and Peoples Financial Center.
- In the 2000’s a beauty shop was found here and small gift shop.
- Today, Golden Echoes Resale Shop occupies the whole building.
- Behind Golden Echoes Resale Shop, in front of the white building, there used to be a wooden structure that was once a blacksmith shop.
